Carol Wyer:Little Girl Lost

Little Girl LostLittle Girl Lost by Carol Wyer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG what can I say? This is the first book I have read by Carol Wyer and I find it very hard to believe that this is her first thriller. I was totally hooked from the first page and the suspense kept delivering all the way through the book right to the last page with several red herrings to keep the reader guessing. The book switches between the past and the future and is very well written. The characters are realistic and develop well throughout the book.

This is the first book in the Robyn Carter series, Robyn has suffered tragic loss and has had some time out from the police force to try to find a way to move on with her life but struggles. She goes back to work when a missing person case appears to be a small part of something bigger and sets her gut instinct firing. She has a tendency to barge through rules and regulations in search of results and this case is no different.

The book tells the story of 2 families. Paul lost his wife to cancer leaving his 2 children motherless and Christina lost her husband in a car accident leaving her daughter, Alice, fatherless. Paul and Christina find each other and Christina and Alice move in with Paul a decision that brings with it consequences that leaves everyone emotionally damaged. Christina struggles to manage after Paul asks her to leave and ends up on a downward spiral.

The effect of 1 person with a twisted mind causing ripples that affect lives for many years until 1 event tips the balance and many people get caught in the fallout. There is a total curve ball towards the end that really makes this book stand out from the norm it is a very special book that has all the makings of a bestseller and I eagerly await the next in the series.

Thank you to Netgalley who provided me with an ARC of this book in return for an honest review
